Performance
For obvious reasons I have chosen Epox 8KHA+ for comparison. My main goal was to
find out if performance increases when PC2700 memory is used. That is why I have
carried out three sequences of tests. The first one was performed with CPU bus
clock and memory clock working asynchronously (133MHz and 166MHz respectively).
The second sequence was performed with synchronous work of CPU and memory buses
at 166MHz. And in the third sequence, synchronous work at 133MHz was tested.
There were following memory settings: Fastest (2-3-3, 4Way, 1T) for the first
and the second sequences and Turbo (2-2-2, 4Way, 1T). Parameters were compared
with the ones of 8KHA+ with the frequencies of 133MHz/133MHz (Turbo).
The following
equipment was used in the tested system:
· AMD
Athlon XP 1600+ ;
· Video card: MX440 on NVidia GeForce4 chip, 64Mb (NVIDIA Detonator v28.32);
· Sound: Creative Live 5.1;
· HDD: IBM DTLA 307030 30Gb;
· Memory: Samsung 256 Mb PC2100 DDR SDRAM;
· Power supply: PowerMan 250W;
· Operating system: Windows 2000 English SP1.
Now let's take a look at synthetic tests, which show theoretical performance.

Here go the
results of office applications testing.

And finally let's
test our system with games.
